Kim Passero
Kim Bio:
Kim received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winona State University and is currently under the supervision of Sheena Sandberg as she pursues LPCC licensure.
Her style is collaborative, compassionate, and real. Kim draws from person-centered therapy and evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), feminist theory, and relational-cultural theory, always tailoring care to fit each individual. In August 2025, Kim will complete formal training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and join the DBT team at Peaks of Hope.
Kim provides individual therapy to adults and teens navigating a variety of symptoms and diagnoses. These may include anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, sexual health concerns, identity exploration, life transitions, and various other presenting concerns. She has a special interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community and college students.
Kim offers a calm, warm presence in the therapy space and believes the therapeutic relationship is built on vulnerability and authenticity. She’s passionate about creating a safe, affirming environment where clients can explore their experiences holistically, examining factors like societal influence, cultural values, family background, and honoring each person’s unique lived experiences. Her favorite part of therapy is watching clients grow more confident, grounded, and empowered in their lives. Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time outdoors and paddling in her kayak, traveling to new spots, exploring coffee shops, cooking, and hanging out with her critters.
