Andrea's Bio:
Andrea graduated from Grand Canyon University with a doctorate in Organizational Leadership in Behavioral Health and earned her master's degree from Winona State University in community counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with experience working with individuals starting at the age of 11. Andrea provides individual and couples therapy.
Andrea is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute. Andrea is a Certified Practitioner in Mind-Body Medicine from The Center of Mind-Body Medicine. Andrea will be finishing her advanced year of training toward certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner by Somatic Experiencing International (www.traumahealing.org).
Andrea uses a mix of creative counseling techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral skills, somatic skills, and mind-body skills techniques with clients to ensure a well-rounded approach to working through life's difficult times.
Andrea offers faith-based counseling for individuals wanting to grow spiritually alongside receiving mental health counseling/therapy.
Andrea's faith experience has impacted her mental health journey in so many amazing ways. Andrea offers to share her Christian faith in therapy sessions with clients who want to explore healing through spiritual growth alongside mental health tools and techniques.
Dr. Thomas is an approved clinical supervisor by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy to supervise clinical counselors in the state of Minnesota.
